The future Olympic Alpine Skiing track offered a spectacular race at the spectators. The racers had to deal with a tricky slope, full of landslides.

Carlo Janka lead the race from bib 7, taking advantage of his low bib on a track covered by 10cm of snow during the night. He ended his race in 1:26:16, pushing the Italian Christof Innerhofer and the Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr 0.82 and 1.06 seconds away.

Janka impressed, letting the crowd speechless when he arrived in the finish area. He ended his race relegating the second provisional by more than 2 seconds. The Swiss skier has been amazing on track, being smooth, fluid and yet managing to stay aggressive on the turns. Janka flirted with the victory several time this winter, being on the top 10 regularly and getting on the third place of the Downhill in Kitzbuehel. A bit more than a year after his last victory (2015 Super Combined in Wengen), Iceman found back the first place. His first ever victory in a Super G, his 11th overall.

Christof Innerhofer skied well on a track he didn’t appreciate during the Downhill yesterday. The Italian skier, who watched Janka’s race on the start area, tried to keep tight lines just as the Swiss did. He made it to his first podium this season, a podium in a Super G after all the great results he gained in Downhill this season. Innerhofer felt he did a great race crossing the line. When he discovered his result, he couldn’t help having a huge smile on his face.

The young Austrian hope Vincent Kriechmayr skied down to the third place. He managed to stay high and smooth on the tricky slope to get his second podium in the World Cup.

Marcel Hirscher ended 7th showing great skills, keeping tight traces. He definitely impressed his fellow skiers and the alpine skiing fans.

We also can note the great race of the young Frenchman Blaise Giezendanner, ending a place after Hirscher with the bib 39 for the big first performance of his career. Valentin Giraud-Moine, another French racer, claimed the 12th place with the bib 44. But these two great results didn’t bring so much joy in the French Team. Indeed, Adrien Theaux finished at the 22nd place and Guillermo Fayed did not finish his race. More importantly, Maxence Muzaton crashed severely on his left knee. It seems like his season has unfortunately come to an end in Korea.

Kjetil jansrud didn’t finish the race and was disappointed as he sated on Twitter "I rarely do big tactical mistakes, but the one today was massive. Happy for Mr.Kilde showing consistency." Indeed Aleksander Aamodt Kilde signed another great performance finishing at the 4th place.
