Liverpool striker Sadio Mané scored 16 goals last season. He has scored 22 in 75 international appearances and even played in the 2018 World Cup, scoring in a 2-2 draw against Japan.

Senegal and Cape Verde have met six times and the island team has lost every game. The last match took place on October 7, 2017, in Praia and ended 2-0. At the time, the clash was in the group stage of the Russian World Cup Qualifiers.

Cape Verde's last match was on Saturday June 5th, when they beat the Brazilian U-23 team 2-1, in Belgrade, Serbia.
