All five Iowa State starters scored in double figures as the Cyclones easily took care of the visiting Georgia State Panthers 81-58 college basketball’s Tip-Off Marathon.

After a relatively close first half, the Cyclones opened up the second frame with a renewed energy and turned the game into a rout.

Second half I thought we really got out and ran,” said ISU coach Fred Hoiberg after the game.

Monte Morris led Iowa State with 19 points, and Naz Long poured in 17. Dustin Hogue and Bryce Dejean-Jones each chipped in 15, while Georges Niang added 10 to round out the high scoring.

Georgia State’s lone bright spot was R.J. Hunter who scored a game-high 21 points. Former Louisville player Kevin Ware, made famous for his broken leg suffered against Duke in the NCAA Tournament two years ago, has taken his game to GSU, and he scored just four points on 1-6 shooting.
