In 2010, UConn had a 90 win game streak. Stanford did the impossible and found a way to defeat the Huskies. It was such an incredible comeback and upset that was the longest winning streak in NCAA. Tonight, Stanford did it again. Stanford found a way to upset the top-ranked Huskies who came into the game having won 40 games in a row. The Cardinal took the Huskies into overtime on a dramatic three-point shot. From there, they never looked back. It was once again a thrill like it usually is when these top teams play.

Last time the UConn Huskies had lost, they were facing then division rival Notre Dame. Notre Dame beat them in what was the Big East tournament final. Since then, UConn hasn't lost a game including a perfect season last year. Stanford proved tonight that they are certainly a top-six team. The Cardinals first led in the game with 1:42 remaining. Becky Samuelson was the one who knocked down a three pointer to give Stanford a 36-35 lead. Breanna Stewart hit a huge basket with around seven minutes remaining in the game. That basket wound give UConn a 62-53 lead. Amber Orrange and the Cardinal just wouldn't go away. They hung in there and chipped away at UConn's lead.

Tonight, Amber Orrange would be a hero for Stanford. She really was the main reason that Stanford did what they did. With 1.4 seconds remaining, Orange hit a three-point shot to send the game into overtime. She wasn't done with the big baskets there. With 1:38 remaining in overtime, her jumper helped seal the Stanford lead. Orrange finished the game with 17 points.

UConn will face Creighton in the first conference play on Sunday. Stanford takes on Texas on Tuesday once again at home.
