It was announced today that former Louisville forward, Shaqquan Aaron, will be transferring to the University of Southern California. This came after the signing of Drexel star Damion Lee and 5-star forward Deng Adel. Aaron will be eligible to play three more seasons with the Trojans.
“First I want to thank Rick Pitino,” Aaron said. “I learned a lot from him and being a Hall of Fame coach and I want to thank him for the opportunity he gave me and the fans at Louisville, but I decided to go to USC and continue my college career there and bring USC back on the winning track.”
The 27th ranked overall recruit coming out of high school, Aaron never really got on track at Louisville. He missed the first 10 games last season after academic issues with the NCAA. Pitino was always saying how he didn’t have the body to play and was just too far back in progression. But he still provided a spark off the bench on occasions at Louisville and averaged 1.3 points and 0.7 rebounds a game.
“Coach Enfield and just playing for him and knowing some of the players on the team and just it’s a great situation for me,” said Aaron.
He took visits to San Diego State, USC, and Washington before his decision. Aaron has a bright future at USC, as he now can become the type of player he always wanted to be. There won’t be as much pressure on him to perform at an elite level and can become a stud for the Trojans. The fans should be very excited for Aaron to help them get back to competing in the Pac-12 conference.
