The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a crushing loss against the 49ers and will host the 1-2 St. Louis Rams on Sunday at 1:00 ET. The Birds are coming into the game tied for first in the NFC East with the Dallas Cowboys and the Rams are currently in last in the NFC West. After the bye week, the Rams are looking to capitalize on an Eagles team who proved they can't run the ball against teams with a good pass rush. Lincoln Financial Field will be packed with anxious Eagles fans ready for a great game between two teams hungry for a win.

What nobody could have predicted before the season is that the Rams are now starting their third string quarterback Austin Davis. Davis is playing well under pressure with 754 total passing yards and 3 TD's, but unfortunately the Rams running game isn't very strong in Zac Stacy who only has 181 yards and 1 touchdown in three games. With Tavon Austin off to a slow start, other players have had to fill that gap. One of those players is Brian Quick who in three games has 235 receiving yards and three 20+ yard catches. Overall the struggling Rams offense who should continue to have problems against a much improved Eagles defense.

The Eagles offense had an awful showing Sunday against the 49ers and throughout the game showed they were a one dimensional team. Although, with last year's rushing champion LeSean McCoy, nobody knows when he's going to have a break out game. Also, don't forget to mention Darren Sproles who can supply much needed first downs in rushing. Nick Foles, who doesn't have any excuses for the 49ers loss, should comeback and play angry. Foles threw 2 interceptions and had 0 throwing TD's last Sunday. With Maclin, Cooper, and Ertz all healthy and with a Rams ugly secondary, Foles should have no problem finding the end zone. With an offense that was disappointing as of late, the Eagles should return to recent offensive glory.

Both defenses haven't been anything special. The Eagles are 23rd in opponent passing yards and 26th in opponent rushing yards. Despite these awful numbers, the Eagles find a way to make big plays and a huge factor is their safety, Malcolm Jenkins, who is making all the right moves. The Rams on the other hand are 3rd in passing yards against, an amazing stat for a team with no big name secondary players, and making it even more important for McCoy and Sproles to have big games. This writer sees the Philadelphia Eagles winning this week 31-17 because the Eagles are ready to put last week's loss behind them and prove they are still a premier NFL team.
