Cleveland Browns quarterback and known party animal Johnny Manziel is entering treatment to improve himself.

“Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate,” Manziel’s advisor Brad Beckworth told the media through a spokesman. “He thought the off-season was the right time to take this step,” Beckworth said. “On behalf of Johnny and his family, we are asking for privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland.”

After a pretty ugly rookie season, many throughout the league, and even seemingly some inside the Browns’ locker room, questioned not only Manziel’s ability on the field, but his ability to keep it together off the field. He is known as a guy who likes to party, and alcohol has seemed to be a problem of us dating back to his college years at Texas A&M.

Manziel is heading to an undisclosed rehab clinic which he is checking himself in voluntarily. He is expected to be there for at least a few weeks, but it ultimately depends on how long the doctors think he needs. The Browns tentatively expect him to be back for Training Camp, but they are not placing any timetables on this as they fully support him in his attempt to get better.

Manziel has received support from his team, Nike (who endorses the quarterback), multiple teammates and other NFL players. Everybody just wants Manziel to get better and get his life in order.
