No matter how many playoff appearances, playoff wins or Super Bowl trophies the Baltimore Ravens have, people will always question Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. And guess what? Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is starting to get real tired of it. Who could blame him?

"I'm not going to swallow that hook. Joe Flacco has been a great quarterback since the day he got here, OK?," Harbaugh noted during OTA's earlier this week via Baltimoreravens.com. "You want to look back and say this has been the most talented offense in the National Football League for the last seven years and they've carried Joe Flacco? You can say that if you want, but it's ridiculous."

People in the past and in the present have said that Flacco has been bailed out from players on offense such as former Ravens running back Ray Rice or former Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin to name a couple. But most notably, people have said that Flacco has been bailed out by a good defense over the years.

Oh really? Bailed out by a good defense? Look make no mistake about it. The Ravens have had some of the best defenses over the last 16 seasons in NFL history. But when the Ravens won the Super Bowl during the 2012 season, Flacco threw 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions in playoffs with a defense that was ranked 17th in the NFL that year. It wasn't the best of years for the Ravens defense but they got the job done as team.

Having said that, just because Flacco has played with some good defenses in the past doesn't mean that credit should be taken away from him because it.

The same people who say it's a team sport, whenever someone gives praise to Flacco for his accomplishments, are the same ones who put all of the blame on Flacco when things go wrong for the Ravens.

People talk about Flacco having a good defense as if it is against NFL rules for Flacco to play with one. Let's look at some of the active quarterbacks in the NFL who have won a ring or rings with a good defense.

1.) Didn't quarterback Tom Brady win four Super Bowls with pretty good defenses in 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2014 with the New England Patriots? Yes he did.

Patriots scoring defense rankings during their Super Bowl wins with Brady:

2001: Ranked sixth in the NFL allowing 17 points a game.

2003: Ranked first in  the NFL allowing 14.9 points a game.

2004: Tied for second in the NFL allowing 16.2 points a game.

2014: Ranked eighth in the NFL allowing 19.2 points a game.

2.) Didn't quarterback Ben Roethlisberger win two Super Bowls with pretty good defenses in 2005 and 2008 with the Pittsburgh Steelers? Yes he did.

Steelers scoring defenses during their Super Bowl wins with Roethlisberger:

2005: Ranked third in the NFL allowing 16.1 points per game.

2008: Ranked first in the NFL allowing 13.9 points per game.

3.) Didn't quarterback Russell Wilson win a Super Bowl with a pretty good defense in 2013 with the Seattle Seahawks? Yes he did.

Seahawks scoring defense during their Super Bowl win with Wilson:

2013: Ranked first in the NFL allowing 14.4 points per game.

4.) Didn't quarterback Aaron Rodgers win a Super Bowl with a pretty good defense in 2010 with the Green Bay Packers? Yes he did.

Packers scoring defense during their Super Bowl win with Rodgers:

2010: Ranked second in the NFL allowing 15 points per game.

5.) Ravens scoring defense during their 2012 Super Bowl run with Flacco ranked 13th in the NFL allowing 21.5 points per game.

Interesting isn't it? Flacco's defense during his Super Bowl run allowed more points than any defense Roethlisberger, Brady, Rodgers or Wilson played with during their respective Super Bowl runs.

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning won a Super Bowl when he played with the Indianapolis Colts in 2006 and won Super Bowl MVP in the process. It's funny when looking at Manning's playoff stats during his 2006 Super Bowl run with the Colts and seeing what people say about it.

Manning played in four playoff games during that 2006 Super Bowl run and threw three touchdown passes and seven interceptions. Yet, people say, "Manning led the Colts to the Super Bowl."

Those same people say that,"Flacco was carried by the Ravens defense during his Super Bowl run in 2012." Flacco threw 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions in four playoff games that year. If that is being carried, what does that make Manning's performance in 2006?

Does that make any sense? No it doesn't. It's funny how people say things sometimes like someone can't look it up. So why are all these quarterbacks named above allowed to play with good defenses and never get called out on it but Flacco gets singled out?

In general it just seems like no matter how many times the Ravens win, there seems to be a lot of people ready to try and take credit away from them and doubt them even though the team has 15 playoff wins since 2000 (which is second most in the NFL) and two Super Bowl trophies during that time.

But the Ravens don't care. They just go about their business and they prove all the critics wrong in the process. Look at some of the road playoff wins the Ravens have had since the 2000 season in very hostile environments:

At Steelers (2014)

At Patriots (2009, 2012)

At Broncos (2012)

At Tennessee Titans (2000, 2008)

At Oakland Raiders (2000)

At Kansas City Chiefs (2010)

Not to mention in the last three years notable quarterbacks have fallen to the Ravens during the playoffs:

Andrew Luck

Peyton Manning

Tom Brady

Ben Roethlisberger

The Ravens were doubted in every single one of those games. The critics will keep trying to discredit Flacco and the Ravens accomplishments, while they continue to compete for Super Bowl trophies year after year.
