Crowded green room tonight with 25 players invited to Chicago. Some may make it to day 2.

We're here folks, the 2016 NFL Draft. Los Angeles Rams are about to be officially on the clock.

We're within 10 minutes of the start of the draft. First two picks are expected to go: Jared Goff and Carson Wentz.

The real initrigue centers around the San Diego Chargers and Tom Telesco, who will have their choice of any non-quarterback in this class.

Latest rumors: Browns and Cowboys interested in moving up or back to the end of the first targeting quarterback Paxton Lynch. Per Adam Schefter and others.

Pre-draft events are kicking off with an NFL homage to the U.S. Military and the National Anthem sung by Ian Bowling.

Welcome to VAVEL USA's of the 2016 NFL Draft. We're about 30 minutes away from commisioner Roger Goodell taking the stage.

To wrap this preview up, realities outside draft day will loom large over the downtown Chicago venue. Roger Goodell and the NFL just won a case against Tom Brady in federal court which upheld the commisioner's four game suspension against Brady for the upcoming season. Patriots fans will be further reminded of "deflate-gate" by the absence of a New England pick in the first round of this draft (a team penalty for allegedly infating footballs in the 2015 AFC Championship game). Just as fans and the league thought "deflate-gate" was in their rear-view, the "boos" Goodell traditionally hears on draft day will bring many of those memories back and front and center.

The tail end of the draft will offer plenty of exceitement, as well, with many fringe first round picks offering up big names. Heisman trophy winner Derrick Henry was projected as a mid to late round pick in January, but concerns about his work loard and running style may cause him to full deeper into the second day and perhaps the first round. Henry's teammate at Alabama, Reggie Ragland, may also see day two as teams consider how much althetic upside he offers as a middle linebacker. The end of the first round also is where the next group are quarterbacks are expected to land, including former Penn State signal caller, Christian Hackenberg.

In juxtaposition with drafts in previous years, this year's class doesn't have a headlining widereceiver but rather a group of good to very good prospects. Corey Coleman, Josh Doctson, Will Fuller, Michael Thomas, Sterling Shepard, and Laquon Treadwell all have first round aspirations. Treadwell, who was once viewed as the draft's best receiver, caused a stir when he failed to break the 4.5 mark inthe 40-yard dash at Ole Miss' pro day. Conversely, former Texas Christian stand-out Josh Doctson wowed scouts during the NFL combine with a faster than expected 4.5 flat 40-yard dash and a 41" vertical jump. With a league favoring ahtletic upside, Docston - along with speedsters Coleman and Fuller - are the likliest in the group to go in the first round.

A couple who will have the league on the edge of their seats will be the New York Jets and Denver Broncos. Both teams are currently without their starting quarterbacks from a year ago (the Jets' Fitzpatrick remains unsigned and the Broncos' Manning and Osweiler are retired and working elsewhere, respectively) and are expected to take a passer at some point in this draft. The first round fates of quarterbacks Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook - viewed by most as the definite second tier quarterbacks - will largely rest in the hands of both the Jets and Broncos.

Outside the top 10, the players appear to be more of a story than the teams. Robert Nkemdiche as been reportedly "red flagged" by a number of teams due to his eccentric personality and off field incidents while in college at Ole Miss. Many view Nkemdiche as a top 10 talent, but with the recent fallouts of Josh Gordon, Greg Hardy, and Johnny Manziel, he may see the start of the second day.

Speaking of 8th overall, all eyes will be on the Paul DePodesta (of moneyball fame) strategized Cleveland Browns. With an analytics core led by the aforementioned DePodesta, as well as Harvard grad Sashi Brown, the Browns are in yet another favorable position to add talented youth to the roster.

Arguably the most intriguing name receiving top 10 consideration is running back Ezekiel Elliott who could join Todd Gurley as a top 10 running back, taken in consecutive years. Teams picking as early as Dallas (4th overall) are said to be in consideration and he me even be a trade target for the Miami Dolphins, who may want to move back into the 8th overall spot they traded away to Philadelphia (who then traded it to Cleveland).

The rest of the top 10 also projects as a mirage considering the conflicting injury reports of top rated linebacker, Myles Jack. There are also rumors of surging names making waves in the top 10 like: defensive tackle, Sheldon Rankins; linebacker, Leonard Floyd; and offensive tackle, Jack Conklin.

What happens after is anyone's guess. The San Diego Chargers project to be in a favorable position to take whoever they percieve being the best non-quarterback in this draft. Possible names include defensive back, Jalen Ramsey; offensive tackles, Laremy Tunsil and Ronnie Stanley; and defensive lineman, DeForest Buckner.

This year's event has already seen two block-buster trades take place and there are likely to be more teams moving during the draft. Both the Tennessee Titans (1st overall) and Cleveland Browns (2nd overall) traded places with the Los Angeles Rams (15th overall) and Philadelphia Eagles (8th overall), respectively to secure the top two quarterbacks in this class - Jared Goff and Carson Wentz.
