The Tampa Bay Lightning resigned forward Alex Killorn to a two year contract. Killorn, 24, was one of three player on Tampa's roster to skate in all 82 games this season. He had 17 goals and 41 points. Killorn had points in five of the first six game for the Lightning and had 63 penalty minutes. Killorn had a goal and an assist in Game 1 against the Canadiens and registered six shots on goal in Game 4, a team high. Killorn has skated in 120 NHL games, all with Tampa and all in the past two seasons. In that time he's had a total of 24 goals and 60 points with 77 penalty minutes. Killorn played on the second line for the Lightning this year and for the most part with Valterri Filppula and Teddy Purcell. Killorn was drafted in 77th overall in the third round of the 2007 NHL Draft.

Killorn will make $2.4 million this season, and $2.7 million next season. At age 24 Killorn still has room to grow with this young Tampa team. He is a two-way player that needs to continue to develop offensively to be a truly effective top 6 player.
