Current four-time champions Manchester City have won the Carabao Cup eight times (1970, 1976, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021), as have Liverpool. Twenty-one other clubs have also lifted this trophy which is unprecedented for Wycombe Wanderers. The Chairboys have already reached the semi-final in 2006, when they were eliminated by Chelsea.
