Juve want to consolidate in the G4

Still without Alcaraz, who is injured, while De Sciglio, Perin and Rabiot are doubts, Juventus come into this match looking to use their home advantage to consolidate their place in the G-4.

After all, they were in a point-for-point battle for top spot in the domestic elite, but saw Inter Milan shoot to the top of the table and now their main objective is to secure a place in the next edition of the Champions League.

Juventus, however, have won only one of their last seven matches and come into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw at home to Atalanta in an eventful encounter.

Genoa

Juve

After coming from behind against Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday, March 10, Juventus reacted and managed to turn the game around. However, they were unable to withstand the Bergamo club's pressure, and the final score was 2-2. The result lifted the Old Lady out of second place in Serie A.

With 58 points (17 wins, seven draws and four defeats), they were overtaken by AC Milan, who beat Empoli 1-0 to move onto 59 points. With no real chance of fighting for the title, third place isn't bad for Juventus, whose only goal in the final stretch of Serie A is a place in the next Champions League. To achieve this, they need to finish in G4. They have a ten-point advantage over Roma, in fifth place and the first team outside the top four.

Genoa without Sabelli

With 33 points, Genoa are in 12th place in Serie A and well clear of the relegation battle. However, with two defeats in a row (to Inter Milan and Monza), the Grifone must get back to winning ways if they want to finish the season in the top half of the table.

Suspended, Sabelli will be out of action for Alberto Gilardino on Sunday. Spence should take his place on the right wing against Juventus. In addition to him, four other players (Aarón Martín, Ankeye, Haps and Matturro) will miss out through injury.

Juve want to come back Champions League

The draw with Atalanta on the last matchday has further dampened Juventus' hopes of being crowned Italian champions. The Old Lady has 58 points and the dream is starting to be to get a foothold in the Uefa Champions League qualifying zone and win a place in it.

Massimiliano Allegri is aiming for an unchanged team for this Sunday's clash. Rabiot will not make his return to the team on Sunday, as he is in the final stages of recovering from injury, leaving Miretti to take his place in the side. Illing-Junior could appear on the left wing in place of Kostic.

Genoa in the last matches

On the other side, Genoa are currently 12th in the Italian league with 33 points and a record of 8 wins, 9 draws and 11 defeats in 28 games played so far. In their last match, the Rossoblu lost 3-2 at home to Monza in a league match. That was the team's second consecutive defeat.

What's more, 3 of Genoa's last 5 games have ended with more than 2.5 goals, showing that the team tends to play busy games. What's more, in 4 of their last 5 games, Genoa have played matches in which both teams have scored.

Juve in the last matches

Juventus come into this match in third place in the Italian league with 58 points and a record of 17 wins, 7 draws and 4 defeats in 28 games played so far. In their last match, Juve drew 2-2 at home to Atalanta in the Italian league.

That was the team's 6th match without a win in the last 7 they've played. Not surprisingly, Juve's games have seen a lot of goals (more than 2.5), a fact that has occurred in 4 of the last 5 games. What's more, in those 4 games both teams have scored, and it's the 7th game in a row that they've conceded a goal.

The thing is, Juve haven't started their games well, having been behind in 5 of the last 6 they've played. On the road, Juve have a record of 9 wins, 4 draws and 1 defeat in 14 games.

Genoa

Hosting Monza on Saturday, March 9, Genoa saw the visiting club build a two-goal lead in the first half. They came back better in the final period and leveled the score. Maldini's goal in the 34th minute left them empty-handed once again. They lost 3-2. It was their second consecutive defeat in Serie A. The day before, this time away from home, they were beaten 2-1 by Inter Milan.

Still on 33 points (eight wins, nine draws and 11 defeats), Genoa are in twelfth place in the Italian league. They have a comfortable lead of nine points over Frosinone, who are eighteenth - and antepenultimate - and the first club in the relegation zone. After spending a year in Serie B, avoiding a return to the Second Division is the Genoese's main goal for 2023/2024.

TIME AND PLACE!

Juventus and Genoa face off this Sunday, 17/3, at 8:30 am (BST), at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, for the 29th round of Serie A 2023/24. Juventus are in 3rd place with 58 points, while Genoa are in 12th place with 33 points.

Juventus have only won one of their last five Serie A 2023/24 matches. In their last match, they drew 2-2 away to Atalanta, with goals from Cambiaso and Milik for the Vecchia Signora.

Genoa have also won just once in their last five Serie A 2023/24 matches. In the most recent round, they lost 3-2 at home to Monza, with goals from Vitinha and Gudmundsson for the home side.

The Old Lady is going through its most turbulent moment of the season. In their last seven matches, they have won just once. This sequence has opened the door for them to be overtaken by Milan in the fight for second place in Serie A. Genoa are also far from their best. They have lost their last two games. However, they remain on course to avoid relegation. A Juventus win is the prediction for this Sunday's match on the twenty-ninth matchday of the Serie A season.
