These teams have met on one occasion. The meeting was a friendly match in 2020. In that match the Dutch took the victory by 2-0, thanks to goals from De Jong and Traoré in the first half.
Eupen's preseason
As for the visitors, this will be their last match of the preseason, in which they have played three matches winning in two games out of three. The only defeat was in their last match, mentioned above. Their victories were against Cologne II and Alemannia Aachen. On July 23, they start their first Belgian league match against Charleroi at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.

The Dutch will play their fourth preseason game and so far they have two wins out of three games. The first match they won against Meppen. The second one they lost against Paderborn by 2-5. And in the third, mentioned above, they beat Lokomotiva 3-0. After this match, they will have two more matches against Salzburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Last game for Eupen
Eupen did not fare so well in their last match, losing 4-1 to Kaiserslautern. The first half ended with the score 0-0 despite chances for both teams. The goals had to wait until the 60th minute when the home team scored through Wunderlich. The Belgian team did not get up from the goal and after four minutes conceded the second through Lobinger. In the last ten minutes, Lobinger made it 0-3. In the final minutes, Eupen cut the deficit with a goal by Offermann. And in stoppage time, Redondo made it 4-1 for the home side.
Ajax's last match
Ajax won their previous match by a convincing 3-0 against Lokomotiva. In the first half, the Dutch team scored twice, thanks to goals from Taylor and Baas. Enem scored the final goal at the end of the game to seal the match in the 86th minute.
