Match Summary

Arsenal started on the front foot with a well-worked goal after Nicolas Pepe's shot was saved and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang latched onto the loose ball.

Christian Benteke equalised right after half time with a lovely finish into the bottom right corner. Odsonne Edouard turned the game around with a spectacular finish in the roof of the net, soaring past Aaron Ramsdale.

But it was Alexandre Lacazette who managed to strike in the final seconds of the match after Gabriel Martinelli's backheel was denied by Vicente Guaita in his 100th PL match and the Frenchman was there to whack it home.

One To Watch: Emile Smith Rowe

Photo by Stuart MacFarlane/Arsenal FC via Getty Images Having registered one goal and assist respectively for Arsenal this season, Emile is one of the Gunners' reliable creative outlets who alongside Martin Ødegaard are the playmakers in the starting XI.

Emile is strongly tipped to make the England senior squad in the near future after scoring a lovely individual goal against Andorra U21 last week.

17:562 months ago

One To Watch: Conor Gallagher

Photo by Sebastian Frej/MB Media/Getty Images The Chelsea loanee has two goals and one assist under his belt for Palace, with a standout performance winning his team a point in the 2-2 draw away at West Ham earlier this season.

The 21-year-old has also made himself a regular starter in the England U21 side where he has just been playing during the international break.

Key Stats

Arsenal have won their last seven Premier League home games played on a Monday, scoring 15 and conceding just 2.

Crystal Palace are unbeaten in their last three Premier League away games at Arsenal (W1 D2)

17:462 months ago

Team News: Arsenal

Arsenal are without Granit Xhaka in the midfield who is out with a ligament injury sustained during the 3-1 victory over Spurs.

Gabriel Martinelli also remains a doubt, but apart from that Arteta has a full selection.

Bukayo Saka, who scored for England against Andorra last weekend, should start and play a big role for the Gunners

17:412 months ago

Team News: Crystal Palace

Palace are with a relatively full strength squad apart from Eberechi Eze and Nathan Ferguson who are still recovering from long term injuries.

Summer signing Michael Olise, who got his first goal for the club in their last game against Leicester City, looks set to start again and will play a big part.

Key Quotes: Patrick Vieira

Vieira spoke on the trip back to North London

"I'm really looking forward to it. I had the chance to play for this football club for nine years and you know I arrived at this football club as a kid and I left as a man. This is the club where I played my best football, so obviously going back there will be emotional but I will put that on the side because what will be important for us is to perform well on try to get points."

And on Arsenal as a team

"I think this is a question to really ask the people who've been inside this football club who can't really talk about it. I'm like everybody else I just analyse things from outside and I don't want to go into details because when you don't have all the information it's really difficult to talk about something that that you don't know. I was outside of the country and I did not follow Arsenal as much as you guys - I think you have a better thought about what's going on at Arsenal."

17:312 months ago

Key Quotes: Mikel Arteta

Arteta spoke ahead of Crystal Palace and Patrick Vieira's return to the Emirates Stadium for the first time.

"He [Vieira] is an Arsenal legend and I hope he gets the reception he deserves for what he did for the club, not only as a player but also what he transmitted as a person. He was a captain of the club in the most successful era in the last many years and it is great to have him back."

Head-to-head comparison

In their last 5 encounters, Arsenal won most recently in a 3-1 win at Selhurst Park, the other three all being draws and one win for Palace in a 3-2 win at the Emirates back in April 2019.

Classic encounters include Olivier Giroud's stunning scorpion kick in Arsenal's 2-1 win on New Year's day 2017.

A look at the Gunners

After a rough start to the campaign losing the first three matches, Arsenal picked up wins against Norwich, Burnley and most importantly rivals Tottenham Hotspur in an impressive 3-1 win.

Their run of form was put to a stop by Brighton before the international break which resulted in a goalless draw away from home.

Arsenal will be looking to climb up the table to where they are expected to be and in doing so, will have to dethrone one of their own legends to play for them.

17:162 months ago

A look at the Eagles

Crystal Palace arrive in 14th place, one below opponents Arsenal in the league table.

Recent draws against Brighton and Leicester reveal strengths and weaknesses, but a 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur remains their standout result so far this season.

The three joint top-scorers for Palace are Conor Gallagher, Wilfried Zaha and Odsonne Edouard (2)
