Player of the match: Wilfried Zaha

Zaha was a menace for the Liverpool defence, timing his runs to perfection on the counter attack.

His goal was an absolutely stunning finish past one of, if not, the world's best goalkeeper.

Had a few occasions where he got through, but Alisson denied him.

Eze deserves a shout too, his pass for the goal was perfectly weighted.

Elliott impresses despite draw

Harvey Elliott was impressive, trusted with a first start of the season  by Jurgen Klopp, the 19-year-old showed a composure beyond his years and went close on several occasions.

Liverpool v Crystal Palace prediction

The pressure is on the home team to get their first win of the season and ensure they do not fall too far behind Manchester City in the title race. Jurgen Klopp’s players will be determined to make a statement after a surprise result last weekend.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace (Núnez and Salah)

13:24a month ago

Recent meetings between the sides

Palace have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five league away games and have lost their last 10 matches against Liverpool- dating back to a 2-1 win at Anfield in 23rd April 2017.

The Reds beat Palace by an aggregate margin of 6-1 last season.

A comfortable 3-0 victory at Anfield and a 3-1 win at Selhurst Park.

13:192 months ago

Key player for Crystal Palace

The man to keep an eye on for Crystal Palace has to be Cheick Doucoure, the summer addition received praise on his debut despite a 2-0 loss.

Liverpool are without Thiago in midfield, and if Vieira’s side can control the midfield battle then they have every chance of leaving with at least a point.

13:142 months ago

The Núnez factor

13:092 months ago

Key player for Liverpool

The one-to-watch from Liverpool is summer signing Darwin Núnez, the Uruguayan forward scored and assisted on his Premier League debut in the 2-2 draw at Fulham.

He did that in just 39 minutes after he replaced Roberto Firmino, and many supporters think he should get the nod to start ahead of the Brazilian.

The stats suggest he should start too, the Reds had only managed 0.10xG before the £85 million man entered the fray.

At full-time, this was 2.34xG, Núnez himself responsible for 1.70 of that.

13:042 months ago

Probable line-up of Crystal Palace

Michael Olise could return to the squad, but Nathan Ferguson, James McArthur, James Tomkins and Jack Butland remain sidelined.

Cheick Doucoure impressed on his debut, and it would be no surprise to see the Eagles field the same midfield again with Jeff Schlupp and Eberichi Eze alongside him.

Odsonne Edouard faces a threat for his starting place up-front from Jean-Phillippe Mateta

Predicted XI: Guaita; Clyne, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Doucoure, Schlupp, Eze; Zaha, Edouard, Ayew

12:592 months ago

Probable line-up of Liverpool

Liverpool already have a growing injury list just two weeks into the season

Thiago Alcantara has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in the opening 2-2 draw to Fulham.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones are also missing in midfield.

In defence, Ibrahima Konate is definitely out and Joel Matip faces a race against time to be fit, with a groin problem keeping him out of training on Friday.

Diogo Jota is expected to be out until the end of the month.

Predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Elliott; Diaz, Núnez, Salah

12:542 months ago

Who is the referee and his assistants?

The referee for Liverpool vs Crystal Palace will be Paul Tierney. His assistants are Dan Cook and Dan Robathan.

The fourth official is Craig Pawson and Andre Marriner is the VAR.

12:492 months ago

Crystal Palace seeking first points of the season

Patrick Vieira bemoaned his side’s poor finishing in their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal that opened the Premier League season.

He has urged his team to be more clinical and follow the blueprint from their win over champions Manchester City last season to cause an upset on Merseyside.

Liverpool looking to bounce back from opening-day draw

Jurgen Klopp’s side are hoping to get their first win on the board after their draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage on the opening-day.

With Manchester City winning their first two matches, the Reds are under pressure to close the gap already.
