If you were to search Fredi Gonzalez on Twitter or another popular social media network you would find that the respect for him is steadily growing but there's still those that absolutely despise him. The hate is somewhat questionable, but to each their own.

Since taking over Atlanta Braves for the great Bobby Cox in 2011, Gonzalez has compiled a 313-236 record up to this point. That's a winning record so not even one person can say he doesn't know how to manage a successful team. That winning attitude has finally got him some recognition by his peers.

He has caught the attention of Mike Matheny, who is the manager of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals played in the World Series last year as the National League Champions against the American League Champions and eventual World Series Champions Boston Red Sox allowed Matheny the right of managing the 2014 NL All-Star team.

Whenever you think about it, it would be pretty hard to find deserving managers to help you coach the NL All-Stars. However, it doesn't appear that it was too difficult for Matheny as he and Gonzalez discussed the possibility of working together during the All-Star game way back in Spring Training.

Matheny also chose Pittsburgh Pirates manager Clint Hurdle to assist him in coaching the NL All-Stars for the 2014 MLB All-Star Game from Target Field. Both Gonzalez and Hurdle will be able to be around some of their best players for all the All-Star festivites so it's really a win-win situation for all involved.
