Jerry Colangelo on this summer's Team USA mini-camp:

“With this being a summer where we do not have an official competition that we need to prepare for, this year’s minicamp is an opportunity to continue and expand the brotherhood and camaraderie that has been built."

“We recognize and understand that some of our players’ availability to participate is still up in the air. Some players are coming off of injuries and are not yet ready to actively participate, or they are getting ready for their NBA seasons. So, it’s a good thing that we don’t have a competition to get ready for this summer."

“We’re also excited about the eight players who have been added to the National Team roster. Seven of the players have been involved in past national team training camps or have participated in past camps as a member of our select teams. All of them enjoyed outstanding NBA seasons in 2014-15 and have been on our radar for a while."

Here is a list of the Team USA Basketball National Team coaching staff: Mike Krzyzewski - Head Coach (Duke University); Jim Boeheim - Assistant Coach (Syracuse University); Tom Thibodeau - Assistant Coach (No Team); and Monty Williams - Assistant Coach (Oklahoma City Thunder).

The roster is made up of 11 players from the gold medalist 2014 USA World Cup Team, nine players that have won an Olympic gold medal, eight members from the 2012 London Olympic team, and four members of the 2008 Beijing Olympic team.

The United States men's basketball program has been remarkably impressive since the inception of the team in 2005. The United States has won back-to-back gold medals in both the Olympic Games and the FIBA World Cup. They have a 75-1 record (98.7% winning percentage), and a 52-1 (98.1% winning percentage) record in official FIBA competition.

USA National Teams have captured unprecedented back-to-back Olympic and FIBA World Cup gold medals, while compiling a remarkable 75-1 overall record (.987 winning percentage), including a 52-1 win-loss record in official FIBA or FIBA Americas competitions.

The 2016 Olympic Games will go from August 5 to 21 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. There will be 12 teams competing in the Olympic men's basketball competition. The United States team earned their bid for the Olympic Games by winning the gold medal at the 2014 FIBA World Cup. The other teams will be decided by the gold and silver medal teams from the 2015 FIBA African, Americas, Asian, and Ocean zone Olympic qualifying tournaments. The remaining berths will then be given to the teams that finish the best at the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, but the times and dates of this event have not been scheduled.

The 2015 USA National Team mini-camp will consist of two practice days (August 11-12), and then the final day will feature a scrimmage between the USA Blue and USA White teams. The scrimmage will be on August 13 at 7:30 p.m. and it is the final event of the 2015 USA National Team mini-camp. These events will be at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Tickets for the 2015 Team USA Basketball showcase will be starting from $15.
