In 16 games, John Wall averaged 22.6 points, 11.7 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals to lead his battered and bruised Wizards club to a record of 8-8. Wall averaged 37.7 minutes per game out of necessity, but it didn’t keep him from shooting 46 percent from the field, 37.7 percent from behind the arc and 83.6 percent from the free throw line, all well above his career averages.

The two-time All-Star is the first player since Chris Paul in April 2009 to average at least 22 points, 11 assists, four rebounds and two steals in a month. Wall also made franchise history for a month by recording 10 games with 20 plus points and 10 plus assists. He also posted three straight games with at least 26 points, 12 assists and five rebounds since Dwyane Wade did it back in 2006. Wall recorded a double-double in 13 of 16 games, including seven straight to end the month.

Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant would be co-players of the month for the Western Conference, as they were equally amazing as they led their team to a 12-3 record in December. Durant averaged 24.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists, while Westbrook averaged 23.8 points, 8.9 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 2.7 steals. Durant shot 50.8 percent from the field and scored at least 20 points in all 15 games. Westbrook led the league in steals during that time and recorded his third triple-double of the season.
