Denver Nuggets rookie R.J. Hampton is expected to enter the NBA’s Health and Safety protocol, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Denver Post’s Mike Singer.

Hampton is expected to be out through the NBA’s All-Star break. The All-Star break concludes on March 10 but the Nuggets will return from it until March 12.

The former New Zealand Breakers guard was selected with the No. 24 overall pick in last year's NBA Draft.

Despite the hype around him, Hampton has struggled to play significant minutes with Denver this season. In 24 games, the 20-year-old is averaging 2.5 points per game along with 2 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per game.
