Everett Golson has decided to transfer and leave Notre Dame. Golson, once named starter at quarterback in 2012 and played in the National Championship, was suspended for all of 2013 following an academic violation, then came back in 2014 and was the starter until the end of the season. There were rumors a while ago saying that he may transfer. At that time Golson denied reports. He and Malik Zaire were battling for the starting role that Zaire had taken over following poor play from Golson.

Everett Golson had this to say following his transfer: "I would like to thank everyone at Notre Dame for the opportunity to compete at the highest level of college football but most importantly to obtain my degree from one of the finest universities in the country," Golson said in a prepared statement. "To all the Fighting Irish fans I want to thank you for the support over the past four years and let you know I truly love Notre Dame! To my former teammates, who I will miss tremendously, I wish much success in the future and will be your biggest fan from afar."

Everett Golson will spend some time and ponder about where his next destination will be. His few teams in mind are LSU, FSU, Alabama, Florida and Texas. If he signs with an SEC team, he'll need permission and a waiver to sign with one of them. As far as who Notre Dame's quarterback will be, Malik Zaire will most likely be the starter.
