Another day, another dolla for Jared Goff and the Golden Bears offense. Goff threw 17-24 for 321 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. The Bears now start the season 2-0 and look to be rolling heading into a big game against Texas next week.

The defense has been known to have question marks but the Cal Bears continued their defensive stride as they only gave up 7 points to San Diego State. That 7 was in the very beginning of the first quarter.

For the Aztec's, Smith completed 10 of 19 for 136 yards, while also throwing 1 TD and 1 INT. The Bears run defense was solid as well, only giving up 76 yards to Pumphrey.

Other notables for the Bears include Lasco rushing 19 times for 123 yards and a touchdown. Davis tore up the secondary catching 3 balls totaling 138 yards. Kevin Lawler didn't have quite as big of a week as last week, only recording 2 catches for 34 yards. The Bears totaled 485 yards and only had 1 turnover compared to the Aztec's 2.

The offense was nowhere near as electric as they were in week 1 against Grambling State, but it continued to produce.

"It just shows our character," Goff said. "For (San Diego State) to go down and score on the first drive . that was it for the rest of the game. They just couldn't score. When you have a defense that can do that, it helps so much."

Goff is close to breaking the passing yards record, as well as the completions and touchdowns record at Cal.

"He's certainly going to be one of the great ones to ever play here, if he's not right now," Dykes said. "I wouldn't trade him for any other quarterback in college football. I wouldn't even consider it."

"It was good to have our defense carry us through the game and have the offense feed off our energy instead of the other way," Cal linebacker Michael Bartonsaid. "Our veteran leadership showed a lot and we made big plays when we needed to."

San Diego State couldn't get anything going they even switched QB's in the game. "I didn't see much difference between the two of them," San Diego State coach Rocky Long said. "They both threw interceptions and they both had some passes dropped."

Cal will now take on Texas next week. Although Texas isn't what they used to be, they're still a name-brand team and Cal should have some fun offensively against them. Texas is in for some trouble if Cal's offense can get back on track. Goff is looking like he could be an underrated Heisman contender this season and will break the passing record for yards next weekend.
