The Cleveland Browns dug themselves into a 25-point deficit before pulling off the biggest comeback in franchise history and the largest ever made by a road team in league history.

They beat the Tennessee Titans 29-28 on a six-yard touchdown pass from Brian Hoyer to Travis Benjamin with 1:06 left in the game.

Hoyer finished 21 of 37 with three touchdowns and a pick, and the Browns got back to .500 (2-2) with the win and sit just one game back of the division leading Cincinnati Bengals after the Bengals lost on Sunday Night Football.

Nonetheless, this is a type of win that could build huge momentum for the Browns as they head into their matchup versus the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2), who looked unimpressive in their victory today against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Browns have made a habit of being in tight games this season as each matchup has been decided by three points or less with both defeats being by a combined five points.

"I did tell them after the game they got to stop doing it," first-year Cleveland coach Mike Pettine said. "I have an EKG scheduled for tomorrow because my heart can't take many more of these."

The Browns also ended a seven-game road losing streak and won a road game for the first time since Sept. 22, 2013, at Minnesota.

For the Titans this is a huge loss for them as they also lost their starting quarterback, Jake Locker, in the second quarter due to a thumb injury on his throwing hand.

Charlie Whitehurst came in relief of Locker and did an adequate job with two touchdown passes but was silenced after some early success. The Titans offense couldn't seem to find a rhythm in the second half in the passing game nor the running game.

The Titans (1-4) have now lost four in a row and will look to get back on track next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-5).
