On Saturday night, Orlando City made the most of their week off from MLS as they took on Brazilian Serie A side Ponte Preta. This was Orlando's third international friendly but their first as a Major League Soccer team. All season Orlando City had been winless at home in the Citrus Bowl,  but on Saturday that streak was snapped as Cyle Larin played the hero. Larin scored a penalty in the 90th minute to lead the Lions to a victory.

Tiago Alves placed Ponto Preta on the board in the 11th minute with a free kick. His kick caused the ball to hit the post and go in the net. In the 25th minute, Kaka was substituted for Brek Shea who played some of his best soccer since 2000. In the 45th minute just before the half, Bryan Rochez would score the equalizer with a lovely headed goal.

The second half began and the score was tied at one a piece. Things changed in the 56th minute for Orlando. Sean St.Ledger was substituted in at the half and scored a goal off a corner. However, Orlando wouldn't have the lead for very long. In the 59th minute, Renato Caja tied the game up at two. His 19 yard free kick was quite a beauty. The game would remained tied until the 90th minute when Cyle Larin became the hero. Tyler Turner fouled Larin inside the box and he would take the kick. His shot made it and Orlando won the game in the 90th minute.

Orlando City head coach Adrian Heath said following the victory,"Nice to get a few goals at home, [it] gave the supporters something to cheer.”
