After closing out the deal to sign Alexis Sanchez, Arsene Wenger's summer spending isn't set to stop there with Newcastle United right back Mathieu Debuchy widely expected to complete his £11m move to Arsenal in the coming days.

It isn't just a move for Debuchy and the signing of Alexis Sanchez which has Arsenal fans purring as it has been reported that Arsene Wenger will now turn his attentions towards securing the signature of Sami Khedira.

Khedira, of Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid was initially a target for Chelsea, but with Arsenal looking to spend more of their war-chest and Chelsea already securing Cesc Fabregas, a deal for the German international could be very feasible.

Khedira has put in some top performances at this years World Cup and shone in Germany's 7-1 semi-final thrashing of hosts, Brazil.

Sami Khedira scored in the final and played a larged part in his nations successes throughout the World Cup, turning out professional performances in the centre of Germanys midfield.

Arsenal have never found a like-for-like replacement for club legend Patrick Vieira, with Alex Song leaving for Barcelona in 2012 the club have struggled to find a replacement to fill the void in the defensive midfield area.

It was expected of Arsenal to make a move for the long-admired player Lars Bender, a fellow countryman of Khedira. However with Real Madrid willing to listen to offers for Sami Khedira, Arsenal look set to swoop in on him.

Amongst the players already mentioned with a move to North-London, Wenger is also keen on signing Frenchman Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers, but with Newcastle United already lodging an £8m bid for the striker, Wenger will have to move fast to hijack any potential move by their Premier League counterparts.
