Tottenham boy wonder Harry Kane has been included in the England squad for the 2015 European Under 21 Championship, despite Mauricio Pochettino’s worry of fatigue.

The PFA Young Player of the Year will join the likes of Burnley’s Danny Ings and Southampton’s James Ward Prowse in the Czech Republic this June, despite talk of Tottenham wanting to allow the player to rest over the Summer.

Kane, 21, burst onto the scene this season notching 30 goals in all competitions at club level for Spurs and Gareth Southgate has given the youngster the nod, despite his recent selection for Roy Hodgson’s senior side.

His international form is just as impressive, scoring six times in eight qualifying games for the Under 21's. He eventually earned his first senior cap in March scoring within two minutes of coming on as a substitute against Lithuania.

However, he drops back down to under-21 level, despite the fact that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino did not want him to be selected.

A surprising omission from the squad is Manchester United full back Luke Shaw, who has endured a season plagued with injuries. Under 21’s coach Gareth Southgate has pointed to his fitness troubles as the sole reason for his absence, branding it a real shame.

Most of the players who have played for Roy Hodgson during their own qualifying campaign on a regular basis seem to have been overlooked, with Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling, Everton’s Ross Barkley and Manchester United defender Phil Jones just three of the big names left out by Southgate.

The senior squad have a friendly against the Republic of Ireland followed by a qualifier with Slovenia to prepare for which clash with the Under 21 tournament, so the abscences of some of England's young superstars may not come as that much of a shock.
