Kristian Wilson has today become the first addition to Patrick Vieira's backroom staff at Crystal Palace, joining the ex-Arsenal captain for the fourth time, this time as the first-team coach.

First making a name for himself as an academy coach for Sheffield United - nurturing world-class talents such as Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire - Wilson then fleed the nest to join up with Vieira at Manchester City.

It was in the blue half of Manchester that the coach forged a substantial reputation, being a key component of the club's Elite Development Squad coaching team.

Wilson then went on to add further credentials to his name, joining Vieira at New York City FC and OGC Nice, before being part of the fourth reunion in south London.

  • Premier League privilege.

He told Palace TV: “I can’t wait to get started, to be honest.

“This is a big moment for me; for my family. It’s a dream as a coach to come through all the different experiences I’ve come through, to now be working in the Premier League with Premier League players. It’s a real privilege and I’m really looking forward to being a part of the club.”
