With 19 players out on loan across England, Germany, Italy and Spain - it was another busy week for Liverpool FC's recruits out and about on their respective loans.

As the Reds stuttered to 1-1 draws against Bordeaux in the Europa League and Norwich City in the Premier League, several promising youngsters produced star performances for their temporary clubs.

Canos the prominent performer of Reds' loanees

An unused substitute against Middlesbrough in midweek, Sergi Canos made a stand-out contribution as he helped spur Brentford to their first home win of the season over Preston as a second-half substitute.

The 18-year-old winger was brought on after 60 minutes and immediately injeced some pace and purpose to the Bees, who had been disappointingly abject until the Spaniard's introduction.

Marinus Dijkhuizen even admitted he was surprised by the quality that Canos showed in his half-hour cameo, which saw Canos set up Lasse Vibe for the equalising goal with a direct run and accurate cross, mere seconds after entering the pitch.

The Championship side led less than five minutes later after Marco Djuricin finished, but it was Canos who was crowned man of the match for adding some spark at Griffin Park.

Though Canos could arguably have been sent off for two bookable offences as his inexperience showed, it was a fine display of youthful exubrerance for Canos - who looked to get at Preston at every possible opportunity in only his second ever professional appearance.

Several League One loanees get game-time

There was another man of the match performance from Ryan Kent, who helped Coventry City to a 1-0 win over Chesterfield at the Ricoh Arena.

The teenager played his first full 90 minutes for the Sky Blues and produced a stunning display with Chesterfield's official Twitter account even admitting he ran the show in the first-half.

He continually created opportunities and was unfortunate to have a late goal ruled out after he was wrongly adjudged to be offside after rounding 'keeper Tommy Lee and slotting in late in stoppage-time.

Elsewhere in England's third division, Lawrence Vigouroux and Jordan Williams both played the full 90 minutes for Swindon Town on Saturday as they fell 1-0 to Burton Albion on home soil.

Williams wasn't at his best, though had no part to play for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side's goal, as Vigouroux had an otherwise quiet afternoon whilst third loanee Kevin Stewart remains out with a grade two medial ligament sprain suffered earlier in the season, keeping him out for at least six weeks.

On the same afternoon, young centre-back Lloyd Jones couldn't prevent Blackpool falling to the bottom of the league table as they drew 1-1 away against Barnsley but turned in a largely solid performance for the relegation battlers.

In the tier above, Sheyi Ojo had a strangely off afternoon for Wolves as they played out a goalless stalemate with high-flying Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

On the left side, the England U19 international was fairly quiet after sitting out their loss to Bolton Wanderers the previous week and was eventually taken off after 68 minutes.

Numerous Reds enjoy impressive week abroad

In Turkey, Lazar Markovic marked his first start for Fenerbahce by providing an assist for Nani in a 2-1 victory over Bursaspor. The Serbian winger broke forward before squaring to find the ex-Manchester United forward for the only goal of the game, before being denied a penalty later on after being brought down inside the area. He was withdrawn for Robin van Persie after 77 minutes, the man he replaced to make his debut the week before.

Forgotten man Luis Alberto had a memorable week for Deportivo la Coruna, scoring his second goal in as many games as they fought back from two goals down, though they fell 3-2 at home to Sporting Gijon.

The classy Spanish attacker also registered an assist and a goal in their midweek win at Rayo Vallecano taking both strikes well from a role on the left of a three-man attack behind the striker.

At AC Milan, striker Mario Balotelli came off the bench to make a 20 minute appearance in their 3-2 win over Palermo. He was not as bright as he was in the 1-0 derby loss to Inter the week before, due to the fact he was given little time to make an impact, with the Italian still looking for his first start on his season-long loan at the San Siro.

Unfortunately for Allan Rodriguez de Souza, the Brazilian midfielder was restricted to just eight minutes in Finland as Seinajoen Jalkapallokerho beat KooTooPee 3-1 on Sunday as an early injury forced him off after his third start of the campaign.

Ward and McLaughlin continue history-making in Scotland

In Scotland, Danny Ward and Ryan McLaughlin help to extend Aberdeen's historic winning run. After confirming their best league start ever with a win over champions Celtic last weekend, the Liverpool duo earned further wins over Hamilton Academical and Hearts.

Ward kept goal again for the Dons in both games, keeping a clean sheet in the win on Tuesday night before conceding only his third goal in the league so far this season as they overcame Hearts 3-1 at the weekend. The Welshman was helpless for the goal and made some excellent saves as the 22-year-old continued to impress for Aberdeen - though he was booked for a foul in the first-half.

Meanwhile McLaughlin, who made his debut with a solid 73 minute appearance in mid-week, made an appearance off the bench in stoppage-time at Tynecastle as they recorded their eight straight win under Derek McInnes, stretching their lead at the top of the table to five points.

Back in England, Tiago Ilori - on loan at Aston Villa - was not in the matchday squad for their Midlands derby defeat to West Bromwich Albion but completed 90 minutes for the club's under-21s earlier in the week. He looked assured throughout at centre-back as they beat Brighton's reserves 2-1 last Monday and is continuing to build up his fitness as he bids to feature for Tim Sherwood's first-team.

Unused substitutes aplenty as various Reds are forced to sit out

Also in League OneHarry Wilson was an unused substitute after Crewe Alexandra registered their first win of the season with a 1-0 win away at Shrewsbury Town - just a week after making his debut in a defeat to Millwall

Andre Wisdom was ineligible to face his parent club as Norwich earned a 1-1 draw to further frustrate supporters at Anfield on Sunday.

Samed Yesil, who made his debut a week ago, didn't feature for FC Luzern - managed by former Reds right-back Markus Babbel - as they beat Neuchatel Xamax 4-2 on the same day.

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who failed to gain a work permit to play for the club's under-21s this season, was unavailable for FSV Frankfurt after only joining up with the German side for training earlier in the week - meaning he missed Sunday's 1-0 win away at MSV Duisburg.

Finally, Joe Maguire wasn't used as promotion-chasing Leyton Orient drew 1-1 with Wycombe Wanderers in League Two.
