Leipzig goalkeeper Fabio Coltorti gifted Frankfurt three points, passing the ball straight to Odise Roshi who finished well to seal a win for Frankfurt.

Leipzig had the early possession and their best chance came through Emil Forsberg, his long rage effort stung Klandt’s hands who pushed it away from danger.

Frankfurt fought back, they had a half chance but it came of nothing in the end. Alexander Bittfroff struck goalwards but it was on the half volley and always rising away from Coltorti’s goal.

Odise Roshi couldn’t keep his left footed effort down after twenty one minutes.

Anthony Jung’s left footed strike for Leipzig was the best chance for them but he scuffed his effort left

Minutes before the break, Hanno Balitsch rattled the bar with his header, he was inches away from breaking the deadlock.

The teams went in goal-less at the break. Poor first half in all honesty, Red Bull Leipzig’s only chance was their disallowed goal in the first half an hour.

Leipzig’s Yusuf’s Poulsen straight after the interval had a great chance to open the scoring but he got too much on his volley and his volley was high and wayward. Then Marvin Compper’s header from six yards out sailed over the bar. Moments later, Poulsen again had an effort saved magnificently out of the top corner.

Then two minutes before the hour mark, Odise Roshi capitalised on a disastrous goal keeping blunder. The Leipzig towart passed straight to Roshi who took on the keeper and finished into the gaping net.

Leipzig’s desperation started to creep in, Zsolt Kalmar’s through ball to Joshua Kimmich split open the defence but Kimmich’s shot was straight at Klandt.

In the matter of minutes, FSV Frankfurt had a chance to seal their win but also Leipzig had an opportunity to steal a draw. Alexander Bittroff’s strike skimming the post on its way out and then Yordy Reyna of Leipzig then squandered his headed effort with just six minute’s still to play.

But that was the last action of the game, Frankfurt held on to take all three points. Leipzig should feel hard done by that they never got a win or at least a draw. Nürnberg now over-take Leipzig in their bid for Bundesliga football again. Frankfurt move into the top ten just two points off today’s opponents.
