The Bayern youngster could be on his way to join the capital club this summer.

Since Pal Dardai took over the managerial post from Jos Luhukay at Hertha BSC in February, the chances of Marcel Ndjeng's playing time have gone done.

33-year-old right-back only made five appearances under Dardai this season.

He was recently offered a two-year contract for the under-23 team, so sporting director Michael Preetz is already looking for a back-up to starter, Peter Pekarik.

A very versatile player now seems to be a target for Hertha BSC.

According to local media outlet "Berliner Zeitung", they are keeping a close eye on Bayern Munich's Mitchell Weiser.

The 21-year-old, who was on loan to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the second half of the 2012-13 campaign, was removed from the U23 team in October 2014, but played a bigger role at Munich in this season's second half.

At the end of April, Weiser made his best Bundesliga appearance and assisted the winning goal - against Hertha - for Bastian Schweinsteiger.

A lot of strong performances wouldn't put exit rumours to bed. Weiser would join Hertha as a free agent as his contract at Bayern expires this summer.

Currently, Hertha and Weiser's agent Norbert Nasse are said to work on a timely agreement, even if they both refuse to comment on that rumour.

Weiser could become the Bundesliga side's first summer signing.
