Two weeks ago social media ignited with an uproar from WWE fans as a 30 second match between the teams of Paige and Emma and The Bellas took place on the February 23rd edition of Monday night Raw. This so-called match that took place was Brie Bella pinning Emma after issuing a Bella Buster on the Australian native. After the match was over, the hash tag #GiveDivasAChance was trending worldwide. This hash tag was used by several of other known names in the wrestling business including a few Divas themselves. Paige took to her Instagram with the hash tag while AJ Lee sent tweets straight to Stephanie McMahon.

AJ Lee stated that the women’s division has record selling merchandise and have starred in the highest rated segments several times. Apparently the Divas don’t receive as much payment as the men and as we all know, they haven’t been getting as much screen time lately. Stephanie McMahon did not respond to these tweets but her father did address the outcry. Vince McMahon addressed fans that their voice was being heard and to continue watching.

Finally Vince McMahon has no choice but to face the truth that he has let his women’s division down. After all the hard work that Divas like Chyna, Lita, Jazz, Ivory, Gail Kim, Molly Holly, Trish Stratus, Victoria and Jacqueline, the WWE Women’s division should have evolved from where it was ten years ago, but it hasn’t. The only step up that has taken place is that there are no more bikini contests, which were a waste of time. As far as the matches go and the talent, WWE has taken a step down. Today the roster can be split in two of those who can actually wrestler and those who made their way to the WWE based on their looks.

Hopefully McMahon actually will answer to the WWE Universe and give the people what they want! So far the matches have been a little longer but will it keep up? There needs to be more Diva action to balance out the men.
