INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The Indiana Pacers announced that they have officially signed point guard Toney Douglas. The terms of the contract have not been released because of the Pacers' club policy. However, it is widely expected that Douglas won't remain on the team past training camp.

Indiana Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird made his statement on the Toney Douglas signing:

"We look forward to having him in camp. He’s a veteran player who’s a good pro and he can play two positions. He’s the type of player we’re looking for with our new style of play. We look forward to working with him and having him in camp."

ESPN Projected Pacers Depth Chart (Current Roster):

PG: George Hill, Rodney Stuckey, Joseph Young
SG: Monta Ellis, C.J. Miles
SF: Paul George, Solomon Hill, Chase Budinger, Glenn Robinson III
PF: Jordan Hill, Lavoy Allen, Rakeem Christmas
C: Ian Mahinmi, Myles Turner, Shayne Whittington

Based on the ESPN depth chart projections, it would appear that Toney Douglas has absolutely no chance of making the roster. Indiana has too many point guards on their roster for him to be an asset to the team. Indiana simply has too many primary ball handlers for Toney Douglas to make the team.
