Washington Wizards starting shooting guard Bradley Beal is a game-time decision Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks at home in the Verizon Center, according to a report from J. Michael of CSN Washington. Beal has been out since December 11th with a stress reaction to his right fibula. In total, Beal has missed 19 games between the leg injury and shoulder injury he suffered earlier in the season.

“I don’t know yet,” said Beal about whether he’s going to play. “I’ll work out before the game again and see how I feel. We didn’t have a practice so it’s going to be tough to judge it off that but I felt good. I worked out yesterday. I’m going to work out again before the game and see if I’m confident and feel good enough to go.”

Beal, 22, is Washington’s leading scorer this season at 19.8 PPG, despite missing a significant amount of time. He has missed the last 16 contests and the Wizards have been a .500 team with a record of 8-8, and have gone 10-9 without Beal this season.

This is Beal’s fourth right fibula injury, one in each of his four seasons, during his short career. If he returns tonight, Beal will be on a minute’s restriction and will most likely come off the bench like he did in years past. In the 17 games Beal has played in this season, he is averaging 36.5 minutes per game, which is three minutes more than his career average.

Washington has been ravaged with injuries all season, making the return of Beal a sight for sore eyes. Luckily for head coach Randy Wittman, he doesn’t have to rush Beal back because of the good play of Garrett Temple, Ramon Sessions and Gary Neal. However, this club is a much better, and deeper, team moving forward with a healthy Beal.

Marcin Gortat Still Out

Marcin Gortat missed Monday’s game against the Chicago Bulls with a knee injury that he suffered against the Orlando Magic on Saturday. Since the Wizards landed to come home, Gortat has been in the hospital with a suspected infection in his knee. J. Michael of CSN Washington reported that Gortat was not shooting around this morning, making him out for the game tonight.
