Randy Edsall has been having a tough time trying to bring the Maryland Terrapins into a National powerhouse. That is largely because he hasn't been able to find consistency at the quarterback position as they have had a lot of injuries at that position since his arrival. Junior quarterback Caleb Rowe might be the man to change that, at least that's how it appeared in their 35-17 win over the South Florida Bulls.

Things didn't start well though, as Rowe threw an early interception to Devin Abraham. Abraham had run the ball all the way back to the Terrapins four yard line, which made for an easy toss for Quinton Flowers to get the ball to Rodney Adams. That 7-0 lead for the Bulls would be their only lead of the entire game, but it's better to have led and lost then never to have led at all.

Rowe was able to get things together on his next drive though, finding Freshman wide receiver D.J. Moore for a big 28 yard gain, and then later again on the drive on a fourth down conversion. Junior running back Kenneth Goins Jr. would be the one to find paydirt as they would tie up the game on the Aussie Brad Craddock's extra point.

A few drives later Rowe completed a third down conversion as Taivon Jacobs had a 70 yard touchdown reception. South Florida would try to get the game closer before the half as Emilio Nadelman would hit a 34 yard field goal with just 43 seconds left to bring the score to 14-10, Maryland lead. But Maryland was not done, as Rowe would find Levern Jacobs for two big pass plays combining for 59 yards to drive down the field before Brandon Ross would run the ball in to put the Terps up 21-10 at the half.

Maryland doubled down on their lead to start the second half, as this time Rowe was able to find Freshman tight end Avery Edwards for the score to go up 28-10.

South Florida was able to muster up a touchdown drive of their own later in the game, but that would be a 17 play, 69 yard drive that chewed up almost seven minutes of game time. That is not the type of drive you are looking for when you are trying to achieve a comeback in the game. It was fourth and goal from the seven yard line and Flowers was able to run it in himself as the Bulls were now down only 28-17 and looking to make a comeback.

After that drive South Florida had pulled Flowers and went to their backup quarterback in Steven Bench. Bench would perform poorly though as he failed to complete a pass and wound up throwing an interception. That interception got the ball to the Maryland red zone and Rowe found Edwards again for their second connection of the game. That brought the score to 35-17 which is where it finished as South Florida could not get anything going their last few drives.
