Jeremy Maclin is coming home. He played high school football at  Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, Missouri. He then went on to play for the University Missouri in college.  According to league sources the star receiver will join the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are coached by Andy Reid, who drafted Maclin out of Missouri in 2009, while Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Maclin did not play at all in 2013 due to an A.C.L. tear. However, in 2014 he posted the best year of his career. He had 85 catches, 1,318 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. Maclin played on a one-year, $5.25 million deal and it paid off. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed but many feel that it will be similar to Randall Cobb's deal that will pay him around $10 million per year.

This means that Dwayne Bowe's days are numbered in Kansas City. Bowe carries a cap number of $14 million for the 2015 season and did not catch a touchdown in 2014.

The signing of Maclin will make life much easier for quarterback Alex Smith, who was not able to connect with any Chiefs receiver for a touchdown pass in 2014. Maclin will certainly be a boost to an offense that ranked in the bottom half of the league in 2014. The Chiefs were 16th in points (22.1), 25th in yards per game (318.8), and 29th in passing yards per game (198.9).
