Sometimes a reunion can be one of the most fun things. Shortly after his visit to the Green Bay Packers, it has been reported that he has signed a deal with the team.

Probably one of the most disappointing things for James Jones is that he is going to have to get a new number as his traditional jersey choice of 89 has already been taken since he left. That now belongs to tight end Richard Rodgers. Could he possibly take a Packers classic number with 84 or his old teammate, Greg Jennings, number 85.

Either way, this likely means bad news for Myles White. He was the last wide receiver to be put on the 53 man roster and so that would mean with the signing of Jones that would mean that White would likely be cut. It also could mean potentially less playing time for the lesser known receivers like rookie Ty Montgomery and second year pro Jeff Janis.

What kind of statistics would James Jones likely put up when he is reunited with Aaron Rodgers? It is probably too early to know for sure since he is going to be behind Randall Cobb and Davante Adams. That is where this writer would project him anyway, and he could likely lose snaps to Montgomery and Janis late in the year. The Packers will probably sign him to the veteran's minimum as well. Considering that he is going to likely lose snaps to the young guns as the season progresses, this writer would put him down for 55 catches, 620 yards, and 5 touchdowns.

If Jones doesn't re-sign with the Packers, it is highly uncertain to project if he will land on a roster in the near future. He is a veteran player who likely will not accept a position on a practice squad. If the Packers do not take him in, he might have to wait for a good opportunity to land on a team later in the season.
