The second installment of Bruins - Canadiens action included fights, boos, and a dramatic third period resulting in a 5-3 victory for Boston.

The Bruins were led by a strong third period in which they out scored rival Montreal 4-1 en route to locking up the series at one game a piece.

The game opened with Boston dominating on ice play much like game 1, taking the lead seven minutes in on a Danny Paille one-timer right in front of the net. Paille didn't make the best contact on the shot but the shot still fluttered over Price's right shoulder into the net.

Putting all their effort into changing the momentum, the Canadiens tied the game at 1 a piece early in the second period and took a the 2-1 lead 18 minutes into the second with a strong performance overall. Boston was fortunate not to let up more goals in the second as Montreal outplayed the Bruins in all three phases of the game including multiple opportunities right in front of the net.

Montreal poked the bear one too many times however when Thomas Vanek scored a tip past Boston's Tuukka Rask six minutes into the third. Vanek's goal brought the Bruins to life as they scored four goals in the final half of the third period. Boston's comeback began with a quick shot from borderline phenom defender Dougie Hamilton, a second goal three and a half minutes later from the alternate captain Patrice Bergeron, the third just another two minutes after by Reilly Smith with the scoring culminated by an empty-netter to push the lead to 5-3 with just over a minute to go in the third.

The Bruins proved once again why they are a great third period team and the top seed in the NHL in 2014 in a game that was sorely needed to escape a 2 game deficit heading to Montreal.
