Sunrise, Fla-- The 2015 NHL Draft will be a great opportunity for teams to stock up their rosters on a vast number of young talent.

As the first round of the draft draws closer to within a few hours, there's no better time to take a glimpse at the possible draft needs of the eight teams in the Metropolitan division inside of the NHL's Eastern Conference.

There has been big-time trades already before the draft has even begun, which will be at the Florida Panthers home arena--the BB&T Center.

The first round of the draft is Friday, June 26 (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN). Rounds 2-7 will be held Saturday (10 a.m. ET; NHL Network)

Here's a breakdown of what Metropolitan Division teams should be looking to add to their respective clubs when their names are called in Florida this weekend.

Carolina Hurricanes

Team Needs : Scoring forward

The Hurricanes have ranked in the bottom third of the League in scoring the past two seasons; this season they were 27th with 2.23 goals per game. Finding a line-partner for former lottery pick Jeff Skinner should be a top concern for the Carolina management so they can start to develop a solid young top line.

Possible fits: Lawson Crouse, LW, Kingston (OHL); Kyle Connor, Youngstown (USHL)

Best fit: Mitchell Marner, C, London (OHL)

Columbus Blue Jackets

Team Needs: Top Four Defensemen

The Blue Jackets have spent the past few seasons adding talented offensive players. With the eighth pick of the first round, they will set their sights on a defenseman; general manager Jarmo Kekalainen has made it clear that Columbus is still very interested to moving up to possible the third or fourth overall pick.

Possible fits: Zachary Werenski, D, Michigan (BIG10); Jakub Zboril, D, Saint John (QMJHL)

Best fit: Ivan Provorov, D, Brandon (WHL)

New Jersey Devils

Team Needs: Big physical forward

The Devils' top center, Travis Zajac, hasn't had more than 20 goals or 60 points in five seasons. With the sixth pick of the draft they should be able to fill the need of a big body talented forward.

Possible fits: Mitchell Marner, C, London (OHL); Pavel Zacha, C, Sarnia (OHL)

Best fit: Lawson Crouse, LW, Kingston (OHL)

New York Islanders

Team Needs: Lay the foundation for future forward

Trades the past two seasons have left the Islanders without a pick in the first two rounds. When their turn comes at No. 72 in the third round, the focus will be on best player available. Also, look for Kyle Oposko to be possible traded for a second round pick near the end of Day 1.

Possible fits: AJ Greer, LW, Boston University (H-EAST); Michael Spacek, RW, Pardubice (CZREP); Matthew Spencer, D, Peterborough (OHL)

Best fit: Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson, LW, Omaha (USHL)

New York Rangers

Team Needs: Defensive depth

The Rangers top four Defenseman are starting to reach age 30 and older, plus it's never too soon to start planning for the future. Brady Skjei, their 2012 first-round pick (No. 28) will be a full-time pro next season, but they could use a few more prospects that won't have their development rushed. New York could also trade back-up goalie Cam Talbot before the NHL draft is over.

Possible fits: Sebastian Aho, D, Skelleftea (SWE); Jonas Siegenthaler, D, Zurich (SUI); Adam Marsh, LW, Saint John (QMJHL)

Best fit: Trade Cam Talbot for second round or higher draft picks

Philadelphia Flyers

Team Needs: Top-six forward depth

The Flyers' top-four prospects are defensemen. A big center to play behind Claude Giroux would be ideal, but a forward who can develop into a top-flight scorer is what's needed at number seven overall. The Flyers could trade their two first round picks for a chance at overall picks 3-to-5.

Possible fits: Lawson Crouse, LW, Kingston (OHL); Joel Eriksson Ek, C, Farjestad (SWE)

Best fits: Pavel Zacha, C, Sarnia (OHL);

Pittsburgh Penguins

Team Needs: Top-six forward depth

Without a first-round pick, which was traded to the Edmonton Oilers for forward David Perron at midseason, they'll likely take the best forward available when their turn comes up at No. 46 in the second round. The Penguins could find a early second-round steal like they have in the past.

Possible fits: Jack Roslovic, C, USA U-18 (USHL); Denis Guryanov, RW, Togliatti 2 (RUS-JR)

Best fit: Nicholas Roy, C, Chicoutimi (QMJHL)

Washington Capitals

Team Needs: Depth on the wings

The Capitals need to find wings to play with their two-talented centers in Backstrom and Kuznetsov. Washington, who have the 22nd pick in the first round, also could look to add depth on defense that eventually could replace Brooks Orpik, 34, and Karl Alzner, 26 later down the road.

Possible fits: Brandon Carlo, D, Tri-City (WHL); Paul Bittner, LW, Portland (WHL); Brock Boeser, RW, Waterloo (USHL)

Best fit: Ryan Pilon, D, Brandon (WHL)
