On Wednesday night at the 2016 NHL awards, Los Angeles Kings center Anze Kopitar was one of the big winners taking home two major awards. He won the Lady Byng Trophy which is given out to the player how shows good sportsmanship throughout the season and the Selke Trophy which is given to the top defensive forward in the NHL.

More trophies for Kopitar

These trophies add to the already impressive resume of Anze Kopitar. The new captain of the Kings has already won two Stanley Cups, and now has these trophies to add to his collection.

Outlook for next season

Next season the Kings should be in a good position to contend in the West. With Kopitar leading the way and a core group of players in LA the Kings should have a great season in 2016-17.
