Juan Carlos Osorio has released his first squad list of the year for the Mexican National Team, who will take on Senegal next Wednesday. Since the friendly isn’t on a FIFA international date, Osorio had his options limited to players from Liga MX.

Youth abounds

The team is a makeshift of players he hasn’t gotten a look at and a good amount of youth players who will look to take part in the Rio Olympic Games later this summer. Of the 22 players six of them are from Tigres, who in the last year have been the best team in Mexico.

In goal, Osorio will get his first looks at Jesus Corona and Alejandro Palacios, the latter of whom will be making his national team debut at the age of 34. In his first call-ups, Osorio went with Alfredo Talavera and Moses Munoz. This match offers a chance for him to see the other options in goal for Mexico, possibly the deepest position Mexico has on the national team.

Hopeful debutants

Five players will look to make their senior debut for Mexico as well, including the Pachuca trio of Hirving Lozano, Rodolfo Pizzaro and Erick Gutierrez, who’ve all had success at the youth stages of Mexican soccer and will look to be part of that Olympic team.

Earlier in the week, Chivas said they wouldn’t release any players for this international friendly. However, they've since relaxed a bit on that stance and released U-23 captain Carlos Salcedo to also participate in this match.
