Paraguay National Team manager Ramon Diaz spoke about being confident only hours before their clash against Costa Rica in Orlando for the second match of the Copa America Centenario but knows that it will not be easy, just like his Costa Rica counterpart Oscar Ramirez.

Very Confident

"For us it is a very important tournament, I think this Copa America Centenario is very important and we have to be prepared all this time to represent Paraguay in the best way," stated the former River Plate manager. "I know I have a group of players of a high standard, with very upscale talent, and hope that play a great game," he continued in his pre-match conference.

Speaking to VAVEL at the press conference about how it feels to play against this side only 15 months after making his debut against Costa Rica, he stated that "Things have changed a lot between both the nations, but they still have players of high quality and should not be underestimated."

Meanwhile, captain and starting goalkeeper Justo Villar kindly illustrated his confidence heading into the match. "I have a lot of confidence that we can beat Costa Rica and we have to give massive respect to them for what they have been able to achieve in a short period of time."

Los Ticos looking to do damage

As for manager Ramirez and captain Bryan Ruiz, they will not be looking to underestimate their South American opponents. "They are a really strong team, I have massive respect for someone like Ramon Diaz for the changes he has made for the Paraguayan national team and I feel that it will be a very tough test come Saturday evening," said Ramirez.

As for the captain, he stated that they "know the style of play of the South American side but will still try to be as cautious as ever against a very defensive side like Paraguay."
