Alexander Zverev has won his first title of 2020 beating Felix Auger Aliassime in straight sets 6-3, and 6-3 becoming the first German of 2020 to win a title. Auger Aliassime was 0-2 facing Zverev before the final and 0-5 in finals.

A fast start for the German :

The number one seed had a breakpoint early in the first game of the match as nerves once again crept into the Canadian service game. The world number seven broke as the Montreal native would hit another error for an early 1-0 lead.

The match continued on serve until 4-2 when the German earned more breakpoints and would convert when the world number 22 would commit another error to give the German a chance to serve for the set.

The Canadian bounced back the very next game and got one of the breaks back when the 2020 US Open finalist double-faulted twice in a row to make it 5-3. The break back didn't seem to phase him as he had two set points on the 20-year-old serve and converted to take the first set 6-3 when the Montreal native overhit a forehand out.

A great finish for Zverev :

The second set started with both players holding serve and we only saw the set first breakpoint at 2-1 for the German but the Canadian saved it with a big serve. The next opportunity for Zverev to get the crucial break was at 3-2 and he broke the world number 22 with a great forehand winner.

The Canadian had break points of his own in the next game to try and get the set back on serve but the world number seven was up to the task of saving them and holding serve. The Montreal native would hold serve before Zverev would serve it out to take the match 6-3, 6-3.
