Debuchy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Yoan Gouffran, Massadio Haïdara and Moussa Sissoko all in three weeks, it's like Christmas came late for Newcastle United.

Pardew, Carr and Ashley finally put their heads together and realised that Adam Campbell, Sammy Ameobi and James Tavernier while full of potential cannot deliver week in week out to Premier League or Eurpopa League standard.

With the new proven track records and international experience of the five players brought in Ashley has shown that he values premier league status above all else.

With QPR's recrutiment drive under way and the Redknapp Revolution coming into play Newcastle now have the squad depth and strength to aim for a top half finish and should put all their efforts into going as far as possible in the Europa League.

Most Newcastle fans will tell you a decent run in Europe will go a long way to mending a faltering season.

WIth more players yet to come in the trio of academy graduates should be shipped out on loan to the SPL and Championship for experience.

The rumours of a shism developing through French speakers and non should not be taken out of context, it may be an issue but am sure with their confirmation of Colocinni's status as Captain now secured the dressing room will soon be galvanised.

On and up is the only way and the window hasn't closed yet!
