With Liverpool short on striking options Brendan Rodgers is considering making a move for Burnley's Danny Ings according to the Daily Mirror. Ings, 21, has scored 11 goals in 17 Championship games this season and has been the reason Burnley are sitting near the top of the league.

His impressive form earned him an England under-21 call up, which he has taken will open arms by scoring two goals in two games in games against San Marino and Finland.

Danny Ings moved to Burnley in 2011 from Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £1m. He struggled to make a real impact when he first came to Burnley, scoring just six goals over 2011-12 and 2012-13. This season he has turned himself into a goalscorer and has formed a formidable partnership with Sam Vokes.

Liverpool may have to dig deep to afford the Under-21 international as it was reported recently that Burnley had put a £10m asking price on Ings.
