The 22-year-old is likely to struggle for playing time at Real Madrid next season following the arrival of James Rodriguez from AS Monaco.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City are monitoring the situation of Real Madrid midfielder Isco.

Real Madrid completed the £63m signing of AS Monaco's James Rodriguez on Tuesday and the Colombian's arrival is likely to push Isco even further down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The 22-year-old rejected the chance to follow former manager Manuel Pellegrini to Manchester City and signed for the current European champions in a €30m deal last summer. However, Pellegrini remains interested in the Spanish midfielder and could make a move for him in the near future.

City are unlikely to approach Isco this summer due to a Uefa-imposed transfer cap and foreign quota limitations, but will monitor the player's situation.
