Abel Hernandez has been linked with a number of Italian sides this summer and Chievo are the next team said to be interested in the Hull City striker.

Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Serie A side are interested in taking Hernandez back to Italy, less than a year after his £10million move to the Tigers from Palermo.

However the paper claim that Chievo want a season-long loan deal rather than a permanent transfer, something that City seem unwilling to agree with at this point.

City's hope is to recoup as much of their £10million outlay as possible with a permanent move which will see them remove his rumoured £30,000 a week wages.

Chievo reportedly have an interest in Catania's Emanuele Calaio or Andrea Cocco of Vicenza should they miss out on Hernandez. An initial loan deal, with an obligation to buy next summer, may be the best option for all parties.

Harper weighing up his next move

Steve Harper is still considering his future after departing as a free agent following two seasons at the KC Stadium.

The 40-year-old goalkeeper revealed on Talksport that there had been no shortage of interest in his services, with offers as far afield as India for Harper but coaching could also be an option.

Harper said he would be happy to receive a phone call from new Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren if there was a coaching role available at St James' Park.

Rosenior targets Brighton promotion

Liam Rosenior signed a three-year deal at the Amex Stadium yesterday after being released by the Tigers at the end of last season and he has set his sights on challenging for promotion.

The 30-year-old full-back will use his five years in East Yorkshire as inspiration when he begins a fresh challenge with the Seagulls.

The defender has told Brighton's Argus newspaper of his ambition for promotion, pointing to Hull's own success when Rosenior claims the Tigers were "50-1 at the start of the season" to win a ticket to the Premier League.

He continued, placing emphasis on confidence, hard work and ambition as the three keys to success in the second division while praising the "ambition and potential" of his new club at all levels of its operation.
