Deadline day is a frantic one for every football club and it is no different at SunderlandDavid Moyes is attempting to boost his squad before the window shuts as he makes his final preparations to his squad for the new season. 

The Scot has managed to successfully complete the signing of Didier Ndong from French side Lorient, for a total fee of €16m. The Gabon international has joined on a five-year deal and is Moyes' seventh signing so far this summer. 

Who is he?

Ndong is 22 years of age and has made 46 appearances for Lorient since joining the club in 2015 as well as making 40 appearances at the Tunisian outfit, CS Sfaxien before making the move to France. 

The youngster was highly sought after during the transfer window and is a right footed central midfielder who has also appeared for his national side, Gabon on 18 different occasions and is a regular in their setup.

Ndong was full of "excitement" about the move claiming it was the "most beautiful day" of his life after promising that the Sunderland fans will "quickly discover" that he is prepared to "give everything to this club"; the exact amount of passion that the Black Cats need. The midfielder was full of praise for the Sunderland faithful, claiming he had heard "many good things" about their support.

He told the club's website that it will be an "honour" to wear the shirt and he will do so with a "true understanding of what it means". Ndong stated that he was "proud and happy" to join Sunderland and play in the Premier League. Ndong see's the move as a "new adventure" and one which he is a "dream come true" for him.

Sunderland now will continue to look in the market for any further additions to the squad before the transfer window shuts tonight.
