Walsall will be looking to extend their unbeaten league run when they host Exeter City on Saturday.

This will be the host's third game at the Banks' Stadium in a week. They face a tough challenge Saturday as the visitors narrowly missed out on promotion to League One after losing to Northampton Town in the play-off final in the summer.

Exeter will be looking to stretch their current unbeaten run to five in all competitions when they face the Saddlers.

  • Team news

Walsall will be without forward Josh Gordon until at least December manager Darrell Clarke confirmed, revealing the attacker had suffered a medial knee injury.

Young midfielder Joe Willis is also unavailable after sustaining a broken metatarsal in his foot during a reserve game.

  • Predicted lineups

Walsall: Roberts, Norman, Scarr, Clarke, Nurse, Holden, Guthrie, Kinsella, McDonald, Lavery, Adebayo

Exeter City: Ward, Key, McArdle, Parkes, Page, Williams, Taylor, Collins, Randall, Jay, Bowman

  • Form guide

The hosts remain unbeaten in the league, picking up two wins and three draws. Last time out they recorded a victory against Leyton Orient so will be heading into Saturday's game full of confidence.

The Grecians have recorded two wins, two draws and a loss so far this season. In their most recent game, they battled out a 2-2 draw away at Southend United last Saturday.

  • Ones to watch

Elijah Adebayo

The Walsall forward has had an excellent start to the season having already netted three league goals for the Saddlers.

With the absence of Gordon now until December, Clarke will be looking at Adebayo for goals to keep Walsall in and around the play-offs until Gordon returns.

Joel Randall

A winger with an eye for goal. Like Adebayo, Randall too has scored three league goals so far this season.

Matt Taylor will be looking to his winger for more of the same on Saturday as the Grecians will look to leapfrog their hosts who currently sit one point and three places ahead of them.

  • How to watch

The game is available to watch via both clubs' iFollow platform for £10, kick-off 3pm.

  • Managers

Walsall Assistant Manager Brian Dutton is expecting a tough test from a very good Exeter City side on Saturday.

He told the Express and Star: "It’s a very tough fixture, just like the Colchester and Orient ones.

“They finished in the play-offs last year and sometimes you concern yourselves with teams that finish in the play-offs; whether there is a hangover going into the next campaign.

“But they’ve had a couple of positive results recently so we’re getting a very good Exeter team coming up against Walsall, so we need to be fully prepared for that match.”

Grecians boss also feels the Saddlers will be a tough test for his side but insisted that his side are up for the challenge.

He told the club website: "I was at Walsall's game on Tuesday night and they were excellent, in some respects, in their play.

"They've always been strong at home. We have to match their strengths and use the ball. I expect it to be a good pitch and a fast game."
