Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Mario Pasalic have all signed for Chelsea this summer, with Jose Mourinho keen to assemble a squad capable of challenging on all fronts this season. Reports are suggesting that Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis could be the next through the door at Stamford Bridge, with a fee apparently agreed between the two clubs.

British and Spanish sources have been reporting Chelsea's interest in Filipe Luis for a number of weeks now. It was suggested that Luis would be signed to replace Ashley Cole, who joined Roma this week. However, until today nothing concrete had been reported in reference to this particular deal.

This morning though, a number of reliable English sources claim that Chelsea have agreed a fee with Atletico Madrid for Luis. The fee is said to be in the region of £20m for the 28 year old Brazilian. Sources say that Chelsea made a bid of £15m for Luis earlier in the summer, but this was rejected by Atletico. It's thought that £20m was Atletico's asking price for the left-back. It's also been reported that the Brazilian has agreed personal terms with Chelsea and all that remains is the medical examination, which will take place during the next few days.

The deal is said to be very close to completion and could be officially announced next week.

Filipe Luis would be another strong signing from Jose Mourinho, after the Brazilian shone for Atletico last season helping them win their first La Liga title since 1996. He was ever-present at left-back putting in a number of solid displays over the course of the season and also helped Atletico reach the Champions League final, where they lost to rivals Real Madrid. It was expected that Luis would be included in Scolari's Brazilian squad for the World Cup, but he opted for Real Madrid's Marcelo and PSG's Maxwell, which raised a number of eyebrows in Spain and indeed Brazil too.

His inclusion in a top Premier League side may be enough to turn his fortune in regards to International football, but we will have to wait and see.
