SC Freiburg Frauen have confirmed the return of Jenista Clark from 1. FFC Frankfurt, after the midfielder's contract with the Champions League winners was dissolved.

The details of the deal with Freiburg were, as is usually the case, not disclosed. She will wear the number four for the Sport-Club.

Back to bolster the defence

The 27-year-old traded in her club of three years in the summer, moving to Frankfurt and joining one of Europe's most powerful teams.

She made eight appearances in the first-half of this season but a yearning to return back to where her career kicked into another gear was a lure too strong.

Clark returns to where she featured 67 times for the Schwarzwald side, becoming a key component of their team and defence.

Can she help Freiburg climb further up the table?

It will be a welcome return to Freiburg, where she was loved by players and fans alike. Her arrival also greatly reinforces their back-line.

Head coach Jens Scheuer will be delighted to have her back, as his side aim to continue their impressive start to the season.

Despite losing Sara Däbritz, Clark and others after their commendable previous campaign meant it was going to be tough to replicate that success.

However, Lina Magull's goals and a 'never say die' team and work ethic have helped ease the blow.

A welcome return

Speaking on her move, Clark said: "I have the feeling of coming home."

She admitted, "I'm really glad to be back in Freiburg and will try to integrate myself as quickly as possible into the team."

Clark also added, "I'll try to help the team to achieve their goals and look forward to working with my teammates and the coaching staff.
