AC Milan’s boss Vincenzo Montella is looking to add Jose Sosa to the Rossoneri but it seems Besiktas are playing hard ball with the asking price.

A deal with the player has been done in principle, but Milan are only willing to spend £4m, but Besiktas value the player closer to £8m which has certainly made the transfer stall as the two clubs look to negotiate a deal.

The last couple of years haven’t been the best for Milan; a club that was used to European football on a regular basis, and a club that was used to be fighting at the right end of Serie A. But recent years have seen a change of the guard as Juventus has inserted themselves as the top team in Italy’s top division.

But with Montella at the helm, the board are hoping he can change the fortunes of the club and bring back the glory days, and if they could get Sosa over the line it should really improve the depth of their squad.

Experienced Sosa could add something different to Montella’s squad

The Argentine is no spring chicken; at 31-years-old the attacking midfielder has seen plenty of football, but his quality and calmness on the ball could be something that could aid Montella.

Besiktas won the Super Lig title last season finishing five points above Fenerbahce; and he was an integral part of the squad by making 30 appearances.

He also chipped in with seven goals as well as claiming 12 assists, so he could be a useful addition to Milan’s squad as they look to get back into Europe this season.

They finished a disappointing 7th as they were seven points adrift from the European places; so next season they will be looking for an improvement and the capture of Sosa could help them do just that.
